I have monolids (no eyelid fold). Example of monolids are as follows: (all model images are from Monolidlove)
Yes I got the model ones hihi. Well, I love being a monolid. I am not ashamed, or do I think it's an ugly trait. But sometimes it's very difficult to put make up on. (Where do I put eyeshadow? Where do I shade? Where do I put the contour on my eyes?) Seems tutorials are very specific to people with double eyelids. Just a handful of tutorials cater directly to people with monolids.
So now I'll try to break down how to put on eye make up on monolids. :)
Have y'all noticed the make up of the models above?
EYEBROWS
They all have strong structured eyebrows! Although I suggest you go to the brow salon, I found a vid on how to pluck and shape eyebrows. I personally tried it and my eyebrows seem pretty okay and structured:
This video is from Michelle Phan. :) Credits to her! I love this tutorial because it's very easy to follow and pretty basic. This works with my eyebrows. :) She has tons of brow techniques go check out her channel.
This might help tame your brows:

EYESHADOW
I think with monolids, you have got to apply A LOT of eyeshadow! Because our eyelids tend to "eat" eyeshadow and if it's too thin, it will not be noticeable. I personally prefer nudes and neutrals just because I don't wanna look like a clown and I am just a student. Imagine if I go to class wearing a very loud and thick eyeshadow!
Here are some palettes I would suggest:

And browns totally look good just because it gives eyes depth. In Filipino, malalim ang mata. And also neutral colors do not overpower the whole face. I think most monolids are Chinese/Korean/Japanese. So their faces tend to be soft and delicate. If you jumble too much it clashes with the whole face.
Also these palettes can double for your brows. That's what I love about browns and neutrals, you can use them in so many ways!
See, brown is awesome!
EYELINER
I love eyeliners! I love that their so versatile and I can make different eye shapes just by using them. I love black dramatic lines. I love the NYX jumbo eyeliner. (Review here) I've been using it almost everyday! And I heard it was a pain sharpening, I, however, disagree! I just used a regular eyeliner sharpener with a jumbo slot.
I love dramatic lines but I think I'm not yet an expert so I don't want to dabble with liquid eyeliners. I use eyeliner pencils (soft ones like kohl).
Me... okay, I made this pic smaller because I'm shy. teehee and because I'm beside models' pics.
Maybe when I'm more apt and ready I would try liquid eyeliners.
Love her make up. But I think I wouldn't dare try the super duper dark eyebrows
There's nothing wrong with being a monolid. :) I just love to experiment and reinvent myself sometimes. It's fun to put on make-up and just let loose! I still do love myself and think I am pretty even if I'm without make-up. :)
Putting on make up is like dressing up, sometimes I can feel a bit gothic/gloomy so I pump up the dark black eyeliner and sometimes I feel super girly I'll put blush + lip gloss on.
Enjoy and have fun experimenting with make up!
