Chicken nuggets

Okay so one thing I also love (besides fashion) is cooking! I am serious. I love to cook. So now I'm gonna share a recipe I just kinda invented from stuff I personally love. I have cooked this a few times so yeah.

I love chicken, it's such a versatile meat. So here I made chicken nuggets (well I just call them chicken nuggets)

Ingredients: (this recipe serves 1-2 people)

1/4 kg Chicken breast fillets
1 pc lemon
5 cloves garlic crushed and peeled (or chopped, your call)
1-2 teaspoons liquid aminos or Bragg (you can use salt if you prefer, but lessen the measurement)
1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon thyme (depends on your tastebuds, I personally like 1 teaspoon)
1/2 cup flour
Canola oil

Things you'll definitely need:

container (like a bowl or something)
pan (maybe a deep one so hot oil won't reach you)
stove

1. Put the fillets with garlic, bragg/salt, thyme and 2 teaspoons flour in a container. You can make your fillets as little or big as you like. I love to make my fillets thinner by filleting them again. I make them as thin as I can go, maybe 1/4 inch thin. I also make them into 1 inch wide squares. Like this:

2. Get your lemon and get the skin/peels/zest and put it on your chicken, also juice half the lemon and also put it on your chicken. (How to get the zest here)

3. Massage them real good. Make sure all your pieces are fully covered by your marinade.

4. Let chicken rest for about 10-15 minutes, you can place it in the fridge. You can also store them in the freezer and cook them another time.

5. If you are ready to cook, just pour some oil on a pan, the oil should be about 1-2 inches deep. Turn the stove on.

6. While waiting for the oil to be sizzling hot, just get your remaining flour and cover each piece with the flour. DO NOT MIX THE FLOUR IN. It's sorta like your "breading". Completely cover them.

7. Cook the chicken nuggets for about 3-5 minutes each side. It usually takes a short time so watch your chicken. Turn them after one side is done. DO NOT OVERCOOK OR ELSE IT WILL BE TOUGH :(

8. Done! Best served hot with a little ketchup. :)

These are just my preferred spices and tastes. If you like other herbs then why don't you try it. I think thyme goes well with every fried meat. Makes it yummier.

Enjoy. :)

Roberta's

So, we had dinner at this awesome restaurant in Maginhawa. Roberta's Asian something. I forgot the whole name! The food was goooooooood! :)

Oh how I wanted to steal their table cloths and turn them into dresses!

Mirror shot hihi cause I'm vain like that.

Love their pandan flavored water. It's for freeeee

What we ordered: Combination of meats satay (supposedly a Singaporean dish?), and my favorite Tortang Talong (Eggplant omelette? That's the closest translation)

The meat satay was very good. It was even better with the sauce I encircled. The sauce was totally the BOMB. It had chilies, something sweet I don't know, nuts, curry powder, coconut milk. Gaaaah I die. It was really good.

I actually forgot to take pics, but then bf reminded me. HAHA I was so hungry that night!

Obligatory vain-super-close-up-shot because I was wearing eyeliner that day.

So here's the deal on Roberta's. A little expensive (because I am a struggling student), the meal was worth about P300+. It was good for 2 people. But everything was delicious and the service was good too. I loved the interiors of the place. Very tribal and exotic. I love the pandan water, as it was very refreshing and very unexpected. (Of course I expected regular water). So if you are a student like me, it's best to just make this place a go-to when you're celebrating about something or after finishing a long exam. Maybe 4.8 out of 5 stars for me!

Poker night at Snappy John's

Yummy cakes (they look super yummy) but I didn't buy one because I think I'm getting super fat!

Awesome they're beside Moonleaf and you can order from them too. They have this little window which connects the two stores together. :)

This is my "poker" face. Hahahaha.

I love this little cafe! Snappy John's. They have poker sets so you can play poker all you want! Actually, they serve sandwiches which are super yummy. I didn't get a picture because we ate it up super fast! I didn't like the milk tea though, it was too sweet. But we regularly order at Moonleaf and it is super yummy but this time it was too sweet. Anyway, I love this little cafe (which can only accommodate like 2 small groups of people). Super nice service and really beautiful decor. The price isn't that bad also.

So for my rating I'll give this a 8 over 10. :)

This is their page so you could see their address and visit them too.

Moshi Moshi review

Ate at Moshi Moshi like two days ago...

I liked the number they give you for your order. SO shiny and full of glitters! hehe

Liked this beef thing a little bit. I forgot what it's called. But it didn't taste really malasa. It lacked saltiness in my opinion. We asked for soy sauce after we tasted it.

This chicken thing was... "MEEEH" not that good. average. over-priced. Lacked salt again. Tasted dull.

OMG I HATE THIS! TAKOYAKI? (that's what it's called right?) ewww. I kinda barfed in my mouth when I tasted this. It was undercooked and gross, and fishy and weird. (Or is is the taste of takoyaki, well, I've never tasted it before) it was really GROSS. Super undercooked it was soggy on the inside and fishy. And the texture was weird.

Seriously, if you wanna live, DO NOT TRY THIS ^

THE VERDICT:
  1. Overpriced
  2. Not really worth the visit
  3. but great ambiance
  4. nice service

I give it like 4 out of 10. Just because the service was good and the place was really cute. But I regret we didn't get Bon Chon instead.

boys' night out

I suck at billiards

drews

a very happy gal/guy

yums!
We were supposed to watch "No Other Woman" but the theaters were packed! Seriously. So we headed to a billiards place called "Perfect Spot". I'm not really good at billiards! Hehehe. Then went to drews! But we left early because I was super hungry and I craved for the breakfast meal in Jollibee! I love breakfast meals in fast food joints! I wish they would serve breakfast the whole day.

Well, I don't know when I'll see "No Other Woman". Oh and this night was supposed to be a "boys'-night-out" (I kinda look like a boy so there) (p.s. I am so epal)

It's raining super hard here now. Hmp. Bad weather we're having. I want to sleep! I want this semester to be over!

last (friday) night

favorite persian resto Alfahkr's

friends: Yves and Anciel

oh hello bucked teeth

awesome milkshakes: toasted marshmallow, nutella and BW

SHIT. I forgot to take a picture of my outfit. It was really well thought of. hmp! sayang! Anyway, normal friday night with friends. Ate at this new ice cream sorta shake store in Maginhawa, Ice Creamist (tama ba). Awesome because they use liquid nitrogen. It was really cool. (get the pun?) Had an awesome time, and I was wearing a gray tube dress! A break from the edgy cool and tomboy-ish looks I've been channeling these past few days.

Really regret not taking a picture of my outfit. HAHA. I shall watch No Other Woman later. Let's see if it lives up to my expectations (Anciel has set my expectations really high by giving a good review about it).
